Karlovsky lab: Hairy root cultures of Zana Jamal Kareem

Zana currently works with two plants: sesame (Sesamum indicum) and henbane (Hyoscyamus niger). He investigates the production of secondary metabolites in different organs of intact plants as well as in hairy root cultures. Above you see how the cultures are initiated and below how they are propagated on solid media and in liquid cultures.
