The 36th Mycotoxin Workshop was held in Göttingen, Germany, from June 16 - 18, 2014. On behalf of the Society for Mycotoxin Research the conference was organized by the Molecular Phytopathology and Mycotoxin Research, Georg-August-University Göttingen.
The conference brought together scientists working on all aspects of mycotoxin research. Fundamental issues of chemistry, biosynthesis and biological function of mycotoxins were covered along with toxicology, health implications, technical development in mycotoxin analysis, and food and feed safety issues.
The Mycotoxin Workshop has a long tradition and unique features that attendants appreciate: all lectures take place in a single hall (no concurrent sessions), all speakers have an equal amount of time (no keynote lectures, no invited speakers), the costs for students are kept very low, and the participants have plenty of time for informal exchange in breaks, during poster sessions and at evening events.
